CM 2008 > Champ-Man.com Update > Installation GuideThis guide will give you a brief overview of how to install our new 2009/2010 update for Championship Manager 2008. It really is a simple process, but I appreciate that some of you may not be familiar with some of the actions necessary to make the update playable so I will give you a step by step guide. First, you need to download the update and save it to your chosen destination, before extracting it to some where you can remember easily. You then need to locate your Championship Manager folder, the default location is C:\Program Files\Eidos\Championship Manager 2008. Within that folder you should see a sub-folder entitled ‘Data’
You simply need to remove the current data folder - but remember to put it somewhere safe! You will need it if you chose to return the game to its default database in the future. (For example, I keep my old ‘Data’ folder on my desktop) Once you have removed the folder, all you need to do is drag and drop the ‘Data’ folder contained in the ‘Champ-Man.com Update’ file into C:\Program Files\Eidos\Championship Manager 2008 - in place of the old folder.
NB: As a precautionary measure - right click on the new ’Data’ folder - go to ‘Properties’ and ensure that the ‘Read Only’ option is not checked. See the example below.
Once you’ve done all of this then you should be ready to get started playing the update. Hope you enjoy it!

CM FOCUS
CM 2010 section
We will soon be starting work on our new CM 2010 section, which should
be up within the next week. I hope to build up some comprehensive lists of all the best players, tactics, set pieces routines and training schedules. I am also hoping to start a new Lower League Section, with help and guides for those who chose to start their managerial careers further down the footballing ladder. If anyone is interested in helping with the Lower League section or any other area of the site, then please send me an e-mail at jonathan@champ-man.com |
