PSG Sign Vennegoor of Hesselink
Paris Saint Germain have signed Celtic striker Jan Vennegoor of
Hesselink in a cut-price 4 million deal. The Dutch star is said to be
glad to be leaving Parkhead, having been told he had no future at the
club by manager Jonathan Wolstenholme.

Smith Has Faith in His Players,
Rangers manager, Walter Smith, has defended his decision not to
bring in any new faces this Summer. He says that the squad which
came so close to beating Celtic to the title last year will be even
better prepared and more determined this season.

season will end in glory for his team. He says that Angel

season to get underway. Gretna face a glamorous opening day fixture

Newcastle have signed German international, Torsten Frings for 9
million.
The defensive midfielder has arrived at St. James' Park with a big
reputation, following a successful spell with Bundesliga team, Schalke,

Premier League new boys
Birmingham have broken the bank to sign Turkish international Sabri
Sarioglu, from Galatasaray.
The versatile defender had been linked with Rangers before
settling on a move to the Midlands.
