Celtic 6 - 0 Motherwell, Parkhead
Celtic got their first win of the season in some style this afternoon, as they dismantled a hapless Motherwell side. Debutant, Figueroa, scored his first goal for the club, as well as an unlikely brace from defender John Kennedy and Donati, McGeady and Balde completed the scoring.

It will have been a great relief for Jonathan Wolstenholme to get his first league win of the season and the manner of the victory will only have added to his delight.

Smith Delighted as Kiev Win Sends 'Gers Through, Walter Smith could not contain his delight, as he saw his team sweep aside Ukrainian outfit, Dynamo Kiev, 4-0 on aggregate, to reach the group stages of the Champions League.

Chervenkov's Men Complete Old Firm Double, Hearts have further enhanced their title credentials with a 2-0 win at Ibrox this afternoon. This follows their opening day victory over Celtic and it now seems that the Old Firm will have some genuine competition for the SPL crown this year.

Money 'too good to turn down' says Romanov, Hearts Chairman Vladimir Romanov has defended the clubs decision to sell star striker Pinilla to Celtic. He said that the 7.2m fee was too good to turn down and has promised manager Angel Chervenko the money will be reinvested in the squad.

Nightmare Start for Calderwood's Men, Aberdeen have suffered a nightmare start to their SPL campaign. Today's 2-0 home defeat against Hearts was their third in as many matches and sees them firmly rooted to the foot of the table.
Reds Snap Up 12m Viana

Liverpool have completed the 12m signing of Valencia midfielder Hugo Viana.

The Portuguese international expressed his delight at signing for the Anfield club and looks forward to making his mark in English football, following a previous unsuccessful spell with Newcastle.


Martinez Joins Hammers

West Ham boss Alan Curbishley has won the race to sign Athletic Bilbao's 18 year old midfielder, Javi Martinez.

The 3.9 million signing is expected to go straight into the first team and is considered one of the hottest properties in European football.
