Controversial Penalty Decides Old Firm Clash
Walter Smith was left fuming after a controversial late penalty decision handed victory to Old Firm rivals Celtic. The Rangers boss was sent to the stands for remonstrating with referee Garry Mitchell, after the official awarded what looked like a soft penalty for an innocuous looking challenge by Alan Hutton on Figueroa.

'Gers Miss out on UEFA Cup Place, Rangers' disastrous Champions League campaign came to an end here in Rome tonight, with a 3-0 defeat against Roma. Walter Smith's men have finished bottom of Group D and have missed out on qualifying for the UEFA Cup, following Fenerbache's draw against Liverpool.
