Irons: We Won't be Overawed by the Occasion
Gretna manager David Irons has promised that his team will not be overawed by the occasion when they step out at Hampden Park to take on Celtic in the League Cup semi final tomorrow. Irons is hoping his team can pull off a major shock and claim a final place against either Hearts or Hibs, by beating the runaway league leaders.

Smith Splashes 5.7m on Belgian International, Walter Smith has made his first signing of the new season. Belgian international Karel Geraerts has joined the Gers from Club Brugge for a fee thought to be around 5.7 million.
 
Hereford Are Cup Giant Killers

Hereford provided the shock of the FA Cup fourth round by beating Premier League Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park.

Karl Lewis and Kris Taylor were the heroes as the League Two side completed one of the biggest cup upsets in recent years.


Giuly Joins Champions

Sir Alex Ferguson has signed French international Ludovic Giuly for 7.5 million from Roma.

The Manchester United manager sees the 31 year old as the ideal player to help revive the clubs faltering title challenge.
