CM 2008 > Guides > Club League Guides > La Liga > MurciaFirst Team: Fabian Carini, Madrigal, Emerson, Baiano Reserve/Youth Team: The Murcia board are desperate for the team to avoid relegation this year. However, with a largely unspectacular squad, debts of 2 million and only fifty percent of any potential transfer revenue to add to a meagre 750k budget, it could prove to be a tough task. In goal, they have an excellent ‘keeper in Carini, but his deputy, Notario is an average player. Despite having a large defensive unit, there are few players of genuine quality. The one exception would be the talented young centre back Madrigal, who should be able to form a solid paring with either Ochoa or Alvaro Mejia. The main problem area would be at full back, although both Paco Pena and the on loan Curo Torres should prove to be reasonable performers, the likes of Pignol, Jofre and Maranon are poor players who should probably be sold. Murcia have a decent midfield unit, with the likes of Emerson, Movilla and the on loan Garcia being combative central players. However, they could really do with a more attack minded player to give them a few more options going forward. On the flanks, the likes of De Lucas and Gallardo are solid players on the right, but their may be problems on the left, with no cover for the distinctly average Regueiro. The likes of Kacem and Gomez are both weak players who will struggle to perform in this division. A lot will hinge on Murcia’s ability to improve their attacking department, with the Brazilian, Baiano being their only player of real quality. The likes of Inigo Velez and Goitom are both decent finishers but lack the necessary pace to really trouble defenders at the highest level. It would be ideal to bring in at least one new forward to try and help score the goals that will ensure safety. Extra funds can be generated by the sale of players such as Alonso. Murcia will undoubtedly be in the relegation mix come the end of the season. They have a few good players, but with the small transfer budget not allowing for much in the way of reinforcements, they could find themselves in trouble.

CM 2010 section
We will soon be starting work on our new CM 2010 section, which should
be up within the next week. I hope to build up some comprehensive lists of all the best players, tactics, set pieces routines and training schedules. I am also hoping to start a new Lower League Section, with help and guides for those who chose to start their managerial careers further down the footballing ladder. If anyone is interested in helping with the Lower League section or any other area of the site, then please send me an e-mail at jonathan@champ-man.com |
