CM 2008 > Guides > League Guides > Scottish Premier League

The Scottish Premier League is struggling to establish itself as a European force. This is mainly as a result of the gulf in class between the two Glasgow teams - Rangers and Celtic - and the rest of the division. This together with low television revenues and the unfair league split system makes it difficult for teams to attract top quality players.

League Structure:

- Top 2 teams qualify for Champions League - 2nd place has to go through qualifying round
- Scottish Cup winners and the sides finishing 3rd - 4th qualify for UEFA Cup
- After 33 games the league splits into a 'top six' and a 'bottom six'
- The teams then play their final five fixtures against other teams in their section
- The teams in the 'bottom six' cannot finish higher than seventh, even if they have a higher points total than the team in sixth place
- Bottom team relegated

CM FOCUS

CM 2010 section
We will soon be starting work on our new CM 2010 section, which should be up within the next week.

I hope to build up some comprehensive lists of all the best players, tactics, set pieces routines and training schedules.

I am also hoping to start a new Lower League Section, with help and guides for those who chose to start their managerial careers further down the footballing ladder.

If anyone is interested in helping with the Lower League section or any other area of the site, then please send me an e-mail at jonathan@champ-man.com
