William Gallas, Cesc Fabregas, Tomas Rosicky, Robin van Persie
The Arsenal board are expecting the team to qualify for Europe
this season. Whilst they have some top class players in their team, there are
areas that need improving. However, with 16.5 million to bring in
reinforcements, this expectation should be achievable. Whilst Lehmann is still a decent ‘keeper, he is definitely
past his best. It may be an idea to look at bringing in a replacement in this
area, as Almunia isn’t good enough and Fabianski is still young and
inexperienced. Arsenal have a very solid central defensive pairing in Gallas and
Toure, but the only back up comes from Senderos who is an average player. The
full back areas are well covered, the likes of Sagna and Eboue on the right, and
Clichy on the left, should prove to be good performers. In the centre of midfield, Arsenal have a good mix of youth
and experience, with the likes of Silva, Fabregas, Diaby and Denilson being
quality players. They also have the immensely talented Rosicky on the left side
of midfield and Hleb on the right. Cover is a bit short in the wide areas
though, with only Walcott capable of playing here, and he is still a raw talent.
Arsenal could do with bringing in reinforcements in this area to add to their
strength in depth. In the attacking department, the likes of Bendtner, van Persie
and Adebayor are all good forwards. However, Arsenal lack an out and out
striker, one who will score them twenty goals a season. The only one available
in the current squad is Eduardo, who is a poor player and should probably be
sold. Although improvements are need, Arsenal have a large transfer
budget and should be able to bring in some quality players. With a strong core
to their team and one or two additions, they should be well capable of gaining
European qualification, if not better.

CM 2010 section
We will soon be starting work on our new CM 2010 section, which should
be up within the next week. I hope to build up some comprehensive lists of all the best players, tactics, set pieces routines and training schedules. I am also hoping to start a new Lower League Section, with help and guides for those who chose to start their managerial careers further down the footballing ladder. If anyone is interested in helping with the Lower League section or any other area of the site, then please send me an e-mail at jonathan@champ-man.com |
