CM 2008 > Players > Forwards

Forward players differentiate from strikers in that they have a tendency to drop in to 'the hole'. Rather than wait for the ball to come to them they will actively seek it; dropping short or going out wide to receive balls from the midfielders and running at the defence.

One of the best exponents of forward play in the modern game is Thierry Henry who had great success in this role for Arsenal. Key attributes for forwards are passing, flair, creativity, first touch, vision, anticipation, finishing, long shots and dribbling.

Although there are a lot of good established forwards in the game, there are quite a few youngsters in there as well who have the potential to be genuinely world class.

CM FOCUS

CM 2010 section
We will soon be starting work on our new CM 2010 section, which should be up within the next week.

I hope to build up some comprehensive lists of all the best players, tactics, set pieces routines and training schedules.

I am also hoping to start a new Lower League Section, with help and guides for those who chose to start their managerial careers further down the footballing ladder.

If anyone is interested in helping with the Lower League section or any other area of the site, then please send me an e-mail at jonathan@champ-man.com
